About Your Stay

Check In

Typical check in is 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm the night of your arrival. While we cannot guarantee room availability, if your room is ready early, we can allow you to check in at no additional charge. We can keep your luggage if the room is not ready. If you are going to be late, please give us a call so we can make appropriate arrangements.

Check Out

We would appreciate that you check out by 11:00 am. If your room is not booked for the following night, we can extend check-out to 2:00 pm

Minimum Night Requirement

During peak season weekends and special events we may impose a 2 or 3-day minimum stay. Special Rate Programs such as GSA rates may require a 3+ day minimum and other limitations. We reserved the right to alter this policy on an exception-only basis.

Deposits

When you reserve, we will automatically charge your credit card with 50% of the total reservation amount including any applicable taxes. 10 days before you arrive, we will charge your credit card for the balance.

Cancellation

Plans change and we want to make sure that we don’t contribute to your stress

• Over 30 days before the arrival date - we will change the date or refund your deposit, no questions asked.
• Over 10 days before the arrival date - we will gladly change your reservation date and credit all deposit amounts to the new date.
• Less than 10 days before the arrival date - we will change your reservation date a single time and credit all deposit amounts to the new date.
• Less than 3 days before the arrival date - If we can rebook the room, we will allow you to change your reservation date a single time and credit all amounts to the new date. If we cannot rebook the room, we will issue a gift certificate for 50% of any deposits to be redeemed for a future stay. Gift certificate expires 1 year from date of issue.

Children

We love kids! We have four grown children and five small grandchildren. We are sure your kids are well-behaved and adorable. Unfortunately, some of our guests are using their stay as a getaway, and we need to respect their need for a peaceful space. If you are renting the entire facility (thank you for that!), your well-behaved and supervised children are welcome. Likewise, if you are the only guest at the inn, we will make a special exception. On other occasions, we discourage children under the age of 18.

Pets

If you need to bring your pet on vacation, please give us a call. We can provide several options that may work for you. Service animals are welcome in our first-floor rooms. Emotional support animals are not welcome. Smoking and Vaping: We are a smoke-free facility. Please refrain from smoking/vaping while at the John H Wallace House. We reserve the right to assess a cleaning fee for violation of this policy.

Inclement Weather Policy

In the event of an inclement weather situation (snow, ice, heavy rain, fog, power outage...)we offer a promotional rate that is 25% off the best available rate. The rate is only available for the duration of the event and is accessible by entering "weather" in the promotional rate area on the reservation page.

Breakfast

We make every effort to provide a nutritious, delicious and beautiful breakfast every morning. We will serve breakfast between the hours of 7:00 am and 10:00 am. Please advise us when you would like to be served, so we can prepare accordingly. If you need an early breakfast, please let us know the night before and we will make alternate arrangements.

Parking

Parking is available in the driveway immediately behind the property accessible off 4th street. We have room for 4-5 vehicles depending on size. We may ask for you to leave your car key with us, so we can move vehicles if necessary.
